Robert Lawrence created the original artwork on canvas in 2021 with oil-based paint applied using a putty knife. Its layered marks and abstract patterns suggest memory accumulating across generations, while blue, orange, brown, cream, charcoal, and warm earth tones give each figure an individual presence within the larger group.
